A recent study compared the effectiveness and safety of two commonly used intravenous medications, nicardipine and clevidipine, for rapid blood pressure control. The study found that both medications were equally effective in maintaining blood pressure within the target range. However, clevidipine achieved the target blood pressure range faster than nicardipine. Although there were slightly higher rates of hypotension with nicardipine, the difference was not statistically significant. This research provides valuable insights for healthcare professionals in choosing the appropriate medication for blood pressure control. [Extracted from the article] |
