A recent study conducted by researchers at the National University in Buenos Aires, Argentina, focused on the development of a prototype bovine pericardial patch for veterinary abdominal surgery. The researchers aimed to evaluate the biomechanical and histological properties of the patch throughout the processing stages. The study found that despite some minor modifications, the final patches showed promise as a viable alternative for addressing cavitary defects in large animals. This research provides valuable insights into the potential use of biological patches in veterinary medicine. [Extracted from the article] |
