Abstrakt:	New research from the Catholic University of Pusan in Busan, South Korea focuses on Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacterium that causes tuberculosis. The study examines a hypothetical protein called MtRv1421 and its role in nucleotide binding-related metabolism. The researchers purified and crystallized a truncated N-terminal domain of MtRv1421 and found that it interacts with ligands such as uridine diphosphate (UDP) and UDP-N-acetylglucosamine. The results suggest that a UDP moiety may be necessary for the interaction of MtRv1421 with its ligand.
