A recent study conducted at the Tenth People's Hospital of Tongji University in Shanghai, China, examined the effectiveness and safety of virtual reality-based visual training (VRVT) in controlling myopia in children. The study enrolled 65 low-myopic children between the ages of 8 and 13 and randomly assigned them to either the intervention group (VRVT plus single-vision spectacle) or the control group (only single-vision spectacle). The results showed that the use of VRVT for 20 minutes per day resulted in a slower progression of myopia compared to the control group. The study concluded that VRVT is a promising method for myopia control in children. [Extracted from the article] |
