Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at South China Agricultural University focused on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a common foodborne pathogen that causes food spoilage and poses a threat to food safety. The researchers investigated the inhibitory activity of garlic extract diallyl disulfide against the quorum sensing (QS) system of P. aeruginosa. They synthesized 39 disulfide bond-containing analogs and found that compound 2i showed strong biological activity in reducing virulence factors production. The study suggests that compound 2i could be used to develop quorum sensing inhibitors for controlling P. aeruginosa infections. [Extracted from the article] |
