A new study conducted by the University of Leicester has introduced the P-STEP(R) app, which combines personalized exercise guidance with real-time air quality information. The app aims to help individuals with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular conditions minimize their exposure to air pollution while still benefiting from outdoor exercise. The study will assess the usability and acceptability of the app through a 12-week pilot study involving 380 participants. The primary outcome will be the System Usability Scale at 12 weeks, and secondary outcomes will include user engagement, physical activity levels, and feasibility. The study has received ethical approval and aims to inform future research in this area. [Extracted from the article] |
