A study conducted by researchers at the University of Heidelberg has found that burn survivors may be at risk for frailty, which can complicate their recovery process. The study compared the prevalence of frailty among burn survivors to that of the general population and found that burn patients were more likely to be pre-frail or frail. Burn survivors also experienced compromised fatigue, resistance, and ambulation. The study highlights the importance of early identification of frailty in burn survivors and the need for a multidisciplinary approach to their care. [Extracted from the article] |
