A new report from Flinders University discusses the concept of forgiveness in social psychology. The researchers found that when a victim engages in reflective dialogue with an offender, the offender perceives the forgiveness as more genuine. This suggests that if a victim wants to communicate genuine forgiveness, engaging in co-reflection with the offender may facilitate this. The study highlights the importance of the offender's appraisal in the moral repair process. [Extracted from the article] |
