The article discusses the complete genome of Cedecea neteri A2, a bacterial pathogen responsible for causing yellow rot disease in Pleurotus pulmonarius, an edible fungus in Guangxi, China. The disease leads to the formation of purulent tissues and deformed fruiting bodies, reducing the economic value of the fungus. The C. neteri A2 strain is gram-negative, motile, and lacks capsules or endospores. The genome sequencing of C. neteri A2 was conducted using two different platforms, and the resulting genome sequence will aid in understanding the pathogenicity mechanisms and developing control approaches for yellow rot disease.
