A recent report from the Nagoya Proton Therapy Center in Japan discusses the impact of cyclophosphamide (CPA) chemotherapy on polyglycolic acid (PGA) spacers used in radiotherapy for pediatric abdominal tumors. The study found that CPA did not cause significant degradation or adverse tissue reactions to the PGA spacer. The research suggests that PGA spacers are beneficial, but further studies are needed to monitor long-term effects in both animals and humans. The study was funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. [Extracted from the article] |
