Abstrakt: A new report from Josai University presents research on the physicochemical properties, stability, and skin application of astaxanthin (AX) particulates. AX is commonly used for dermal applications due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, but it has poor water solubility. The study investigated the formulation of AX particulates using the amphiphilic graft copolymer Soluplus and polyethylene glycol-2000 (PEG 2000), as well as their stability and skin permeation. The research found that Sol/PEG 2000/AX particulates maintained stability and improved the skin penetration of AX. [Extracted from the article]
