A recent study conducted by researchers at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, examined the validity of the Psychodiagnostic Chart-2 (PDC-2) in assessing personality and psychopathology in a clinical sample. The PDC-2 is a clinician-rated instrument designed to operationalize the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM) and its subsequent second edition (PDM-2). The study found that the PDC-2 demonstrated good convergent validity with other diagnostic measures and self-reported distress. However, it also identified potential areas for revision in future editions of the PDM. Overall, the study concluded that the PDC-2 is a valid instrument for assessing personality and psychopathology in a clinical setting. [Extracted from the article] |
