Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at Suez Canal University in Ismailia, Egypt compared the performance of intensive care nurses using open versus closed endotracheal suction on critically ill patients. The study found that there were significant differences in nurses' performance between the two suctioning systems. Approximately 75% of participants had a satisfactory level of knowledge about the open system, compared to 65% for the closed system. The researchers recommend in-service-led training programs to improve nurses' performance and suggest that further studies with larger sample sizes should be conducted. [Extracted from the article]
