Researchers from Universitas Brawijaya conducted a study to determine the effects of brown rice as a functional food on Lee Index, adipose tissues, and PRDM16 levels in an obesity model of rats. The study used a true experimental method with a post-test-only control group design. The results showed that there were differences among the groups in terms of total body fat, white adipose tissue (WAT) weight, and brown adipose tissue (BAT) weight. However, there were no significant differences in Lee Index, beige adipose tissue (BeAT) weight, and PRDM16 levels. The study concluded that brown rice intervention did not significantly affect these measures. [Extracted from the article] |
