Abstrakt: A study conducted by Johns Hopkins University investigated the effects of using glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) before atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation and its association with AF recurrence and related outcomes. The study analyzed data from patients who underwent AF ablation between 2014 and 2023 and found that preablation GLP-1 RA therapy did not reduce the risk of AF recurrence or adverse outcomes. The researchers concluded that further research is needed to determine if these agents can improve outcomes in AF patients. This study was published in JACC Clinical Electrophysiology.
