Abstrakt: This article presents the findings of a pilot study on the prevalence of dental caries and tooth number anomaly in children with a cleft lip and palate (CLP). The study analyzed panoramic x-rays of 47 children with CLP, comparing the results with data from the Czech population. The study found that 79% of children with primary dentition and 56.5% with permanent dentition had caries. Additionally, 34% of children had tooth agenesis and 45% had supernumerary teeth. There was no significant association between caries prevalence and gender, but there were more supernumerary teeth in children with clefts of the primary palate. [Extracted from the article]
