This article discusses a study conducted in North Spain that aimed to investigate the association between premature chondrodermatitis nodularis (CN) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. CN is a benign disease characterized by a tender nodule on the ear, and it has been associated with vascular injury but not HIV infection. The study found that patients with a premature diagnosis of CN were more likely to have a confirmed diagnosis of HIV infection compared to a matched control population. The findings suggest a potential link between CN and HIV infection, although further research is needed to establish causality. [Extracted from the article] |
