A recent study conducted by researchers at Firat University examined the osseointegration levels of implants placed simultaneously with allogeneic bone grafts from the tibia, femur, and jaw. The study involved 28 female Sprague Dawley rats, with bone transplantations performed in the tibia, femur, and lower jaw regions. After a 2-week experimental period, the researchers found no statistical difference in bone-implant fusion between the tibia and femur groups, but the fusion value in the lower jaw group was significantly higher. These findings suggest that allogeneic jawbone grafts may have a higher osseointegration potential compared to grafts from the femur and tibia. [Extracted from the article] |
