A study conducted at Virgen Macarena University Hospital in Seville, Spain, examined the long-term mental health outcomes of patients who underwent enucleation or evisceration with OCULFIT implantation and external prosthesis placement. The study included 33 patients and utilized four questionnaires to assess mental health at different time points. The results showed that the mental domain of the SF-12 questionnaire significantly improved from baseline to the last visit, indicating an improvement in mental health. Additionally, the number of patients with no symptoms of depression or anhedonia increased throughout the follow-up period.
