Abstrakt: A recent study conducted in urban poor resettlements in Rishikesh, India aimed to estimate the prevalence of unintentional injuries among children under the age of five and identify associated risk factors. The study found that the prevalence of unintentional injuries among the participants was 16%, with falls being the major cause of injury followed by dog bites. The majority of injuries occurred at home, and most children were taken to nearby hospitals or health centers for treatment. While most injuries were mild, they still contributed to temporary disability and loss of school days. [Extracted from the article]
