A recent study conducted by researchers at Karbala University in Iraq focused on the dental arch form in Iraqi adults with sickle cell anemia (SCA) using 3D scanning techniques. The study found that the tapered arch was the most common form in both male and female participants with SCA. Additionally, the study revealed that males with SCA had more significant effects on sagittal jaw dimensions due to marrow hyperplasia compared to females with SCA. This research provides valuable insights into the dental characteristics of individuals with SCA and may contribute to improved dental care for this population. [Extracted from the article] |
