Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Boston University reviewed the long-term effectiveness of a post-operative venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention program. The study analyzed data from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program from 2008 to 2022. The researchers found that after implementing a mandatory VTE risk assessment model and a risk-commensurate prophylaxis protocol in 2011, the likelihood of VTE events in general surgery patients significantly decreased and remained low through 2022. This research provides valuable insights into the sustained success of VTE prevention protocols. [Extracted from the article]
