A recent study published in JAMA Network Open found that enrollment in Medicare Advantage (MA) plans does not affect frailty trajectories compared to enrollment in Traditional Medicare (TM). The study, conducted by Sandra M. Shi and colleagues, suggests that more research is needed to understand the healthcare needs of older adults with frailty. The study analyzed data from Medicare beneficiaries aged 65 and older and found that both MA and TM enrollees experienced similar declines in frailty over one year. The researchers recommend further investigation into the impact of specific health insurance services on frailty and health trajectories for older adults. [Extracted from the article] |
