Abstrakt: Researchers from East China University of Technology have developed a hybrid K-edge/X-ray fluorescence densitometer (HKED) for measuring uranium concentrations. The HKED combines K-edge absorption technology and characteristic X-ray fluorescence, providing a direct, fast, and non-destructive method for determining uranium and plutonium concentrations. The researchers identified key parameters that influence measurement outcomes and conducted validation tests to assess the system's stability and analytical capabilities. The HKED demonstrated precision rates of 0.56% and 0.19% for uranium solutions of 50 g/L and 150 g/L, respectively, and achieved a relative discrepancy of 0.58% for the 150 g/L uranium sample. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in Radiation Measurements. [Extracted from the article]
