Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Link Campus University in Rome, Italy, examined the pharmacological management of secondary chronic spinal cord injury (SCI). The study found that surgery and blood pressure management are crucial in the acute stage of SCI to prevent further damage. However, the management of secondary chronic SCI remains challenging, with unpredictable outcomes. The study analyzed various drugs and treatment options for managing secondary chronic SCI, including 4-aminopyridine, tizanidine, baclofen, Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, and growth hormone. The researchers concluded that while some drugs showed positive results, further research is needed, particularly regarding the use of riluzole. [Extracted from the article]
