Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by the University of Ulster in the United Kingdom aimed to identify research priorities for progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF), a condition characterized by unknown causal mechanisms, lack of curative treatments, and suboptimal symptom management. The study involved stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, relatives, and healthcare professionals, who participated in an online survey. Thematic analysis of the responses identified 48 research questions, which were narrowed down to a top 10 priority list through consensus. The priorities included improved diagnosis accuracy and timing, development of new treatments, enhanced accuracy in primary care, optimal timing for interventions, effective cough treatment, early intervention, improved survival rates, symptom reduction, impact of interventions on life expectancy, and new treatments with reduced side effects. The researchers suggest that these priorities should guide funding bodies and health policies. [Extracted from the article]
