Abstrakt:	The authors stress the need for detection and treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV). They discuss the racial disparity that exists in congenital CMV (cCMV), states that use expanded targeting CMV testing of newborns based on clinical presentation, and the need for a concerted call to action for maternal and neonatal are providers in states and territories and their state public health agencies that do not screen for cCMV.
