This meta-analysis evaluates the performance of deep machine learning (DML) models compared to expert evaluation in diagnosing adnexal masses using ultrasound images. Four studies published between 2000 and 2023 were included in the analysis. The quality of the studies was generally good, with low risk of bias for the index and reference tests, but high risk of bias for patient selection. The results showed no significant differences between DML systems and expert evaluations in detecting and differentially diagnosing adnexal masses using ultrasound images.
