Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal "Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology," discusses the prognostic value of maternal N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in predicting adverse maternal outcomes in women with pre-eclampsia. The study, conducted at the Medical University of Vienna, included 137 singleton pregnancies with pre-eclampsia. The results showed that higher levels of NT-proBNP were associated with adverse maternal outcomes. The authors suggest that NT-proBNP could be a useful tool for surveillance and prediction of adverse outcomes in pregnancies complicated by pre-eclampsia. [Extracted from the article]
