Abstrakt: This article, published in the journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, examines the impact of sonographic surveillance on perinatal outcomes in pregnancies with periviable fetal growth restriction (pFGR). The study found that weekly sonographic surveillance was associated with higher rates of abnormal Dopplers, NICU admissions, earlier delivery, and lower birthweights compared to serial growth assessment. However, there was no difference in neonatal survival between the two groups. The authors suggest that concerning fetal status, as determined by Doppler findings, may have influenced the decision for earlier delivery and increased morbidity in the surveillance cohort.
