Abstrakt: In the present work, aluminum alloy Al8090 was reinforced by 2 wt.% of SiC and various wt.% of B4C such as 2, 4 and 6 to develop Al8090/SiC/B4C hybrid metal matrix composites (HMMCs) using double step stir casting technique. Metallurgical characterization, physical properties, mechanical properties and thermal behavior were determined on the samples prepared from the developed hybrid composites. EDAX analysis was performed on the hybrid composite having maximum and minimum reinforcement particles. The presence of matrix material and reinforcement particles were analyzed and defect-free castings were confirmed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
