Abstrakt: This article analyzes Richard Cobden's relationship with the three constituencies he represented during his parliamentary career: Stockport, the West Riding of Yorkshire, and Rochdale. Cobden was elected to parliament for Stockport in 1841 and used his platform to pursue corn law repeal. He was later elected for the West Riding of Yorkshire and reluctantly defended the seat in 1852. In 1859, Cobden was returned for the Lancashire borough of Rochdale, which he represented until his death in 1865. The article explores Cobden's interactions with his constituents and his role as a representative. [Extracted from the article]
