A new report discusses research conducted by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences on the effects of ketogenic diets on breast cancer treatment outcomes and quality of life. The systematic review found that breast cancer patients following a ketogenic diet experienced improvements in emotional and social functions, reduced disease symptoms, and improved metabolic health biomarkers. Long-term adherence to a ketogenic diet was associated with weight loss, tumor size reduction, improved quality of life, and improvements in inflammatory factors, body composition, insulin resistance, and serum lipid profile disorders. The researchers suggest that clinical trials should be conducted to further evaluate the effects of ketogenic diets on these factors in women with breast cancer. [Extracted from the article] |
