Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom has investigated the development of neuropathic pain in pediatric cancer survivors who have undergone cisplatin-based chemotherapy. The researchers found that cisplatin treatment led to increased TrkA expression in sensory neurons, resulting in sensory neuritogenesis and nociceptor sensitization. However, the administration of a TrkA antagonist was able to prevent cisplatin-induced neuropathic pain. These findings provide a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying this type of pain and may help identify potential therapeutic targets. [Extracted from the article]
