A recent study conducted by the Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences in Haryana, India, has provided new insights into a rare benign neoplasm called dentinogenic ghost cell tumor (DGCT). DGCT is a form of calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) characterized by ghost cells. Although it is a benign tumor, it can exhibit aggressive behavior and has a low recurrence rate. The study presents the case of a 51-year-old male with DGCT and provides a review of similar cases in the past. The research emphasizes the importance of long-term monitoring for central DGCT patients to detect recurrence. [Extracted from the article] |
