An HPLC method for the quantitative determination of the rosmarinic acid content in leaves of peppermint (Mentha piperita L.) was developed. The content of the dominant phenylpropanoid rosmarinic acid in leaves of M. piperita varied from 2.01 ± 0.03% to 5.54 ± 0.05%. The error of a single determination of the rosmarinic acid content in M. piperita leaves was ±9.66% at a confidence probability of 95%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
