Abstrakt: To develop a fiber optic toxic gas sensor that can detect the presence of ammonia gas using samarium oxide as a sensing material to analyse the best sensitivity and selectivity. A fiber optic toxic ammonia gas sensor using samarium oxide application comparing with different room temperatures for best sensitivity, much data was collected using two groups, 8 samples, and a total of 16 samples. The group 1 and group 2 are wavelengths 690nm and 719nm. The evanescent wave absorption phenomenon and substrate using dip coating techniques are used. When compared to fiber optic toxic ammonia gas sensor significance difference of group1 and group2 considered to be statistically significant and 80% confidence value is calculated. The significant value obtained is p=0.03 (p<0.05) Hence, there exist statistically significant differences between two groups. The ammonia responds well at 40°C. Compare the other different temperatures (20°C, 30°C). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
