The rise in home burglary highlights the need for robust security systems. Traditional security systems often rely solely on perimeter protection, which may not be enough to deter intruders who have already gained entry. This research proposes an innovative anti-theft flooring system to enhance home security. The system activates when the homeowner is away, providing an additional layer of protection beyond traditional perimeter alarms. The system leverages real-time monitoring and prompt alerts to ensure quick responses to potential breaches. It utilizes a pressure-sensitive floor mat as the primary trigger, activating the system when unauthorized weight is applied. Additionally, a real-time face recognition system, developed using Python and OpenCV, captures images and compares them to a pre-defined database of authorized faces. This multi-layered approach aims to identify potential intruders in real time, increasing the precision and effectiveness of security measures. A comprehensive evaluation process involving various sensors like pressure mats, motion detectors, and buzzers helps assess system performance. The evaluation not only identifies areas for improvement but also strengthens the overall system by confirming its efficacy in detecting unauthorized access and triggering timely alerts for homeowners. This research contributes to the development of dependable IoT-based home security systems by introducing a multi-sensor approach that goes beyond traditional perimeter protection.
