Carbon‐dioxide laser‐associated PDT treatment of folliculitis decalvans.

Abstrakt: This article discusses the successful treatment of a patient with folliculitis decalvans, a rare hair disorder that causes scarring alopecia. The patient had tried various treatments without significant improvement, leading to the decision to use carbon dioxide laser-associated photodynamic therapy (PDT). The treatment involved using a CO2 laser to create microscopic channels in the skin and then applying a photosensitizing agent followed by red light illumination. The patient experienced an excellent therapeutic response with minimal side effects. This case report suggests that CO2 laser-associated PDT may be an effective therapeutic approach for folliculitis decalvans. [Extracted from the article]
