Abstrakt: This document is a letter to the editor discussing the use of octreotide as a prophylactic treatment for asparaginase-associated pancreatitis (AAP) in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL). The study presented in the letter aimed to assess the effectiveness of octreotide in preventing AAP recurrence in patients who received asparaginase re-administration after AAP development. The results showed that prophylactic octreotide administration reduced the incidence of AAP recurrence and allowed most patients to complete the prescribed number of asparaginase administrations without severe complications. The study suggests that octreotide may be effective in preventing AAP relapses and further research is needed to assess its effectiveness. [Extracted from the article]
