Abstrakt: A new study conducted in Mexico City explores the relationship between dietary zinc intake, metabolic diseases, and telomere length in children. The study found that telomere shortening was associated with fasting plasma insulin and insulin resistance in both normal weight and obese children. Additionally, dietary zinc intake was negatively associated with fasting plasma insulin and insulin resistance in obese children. The results suggest that a high zinc intake may help mitigate telomere shortening related to high insulin levels and insulin resistance. [Extracted from the article]
