Abstrakt: A recent report from Zhejiang University in China discusses research on apoptosis, specifically focusing on the protective effects of Ganoderma lucidum spores (GLS) on thymic atrophy and T cell development. The study used a mice model to evaluate the impact of GLS on thymic damage caused by estradiol benzoate (EB). The researchers found that GLS effectively mitigated EB-induced thymic damage by reducing apoptotic thymic epithelial cells (TECs) and enhancing the output of CD4+ T cells. Additionally, GLS promoted T cell receptor rearrangement and facilitated the development of double-positive (DP) to invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells. The study suggests that GLS has potential as a T-cell regeneration inducer. [Extracted from the article]
