Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Virginia Commonwealth University examined the consumption and preference for nicotine in male and female mice of various Diversity Outbred (DO) founder strains. The study found that the strain 129S1/SvlmJ consumed the highest amount of nicotine, while the A/J strain consumed the lowest. The researchers also discovered that nicotine consumption patterns are heritable and influenced by genotype. These findings may contribute to future studies that identify genetic factors related to nicotine consumption. The study was supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the School of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University. [Extracted from the article]
