A recent study conducted at Vanderbilt University Ingram Cancer Center has developed a digital patient-facing family history collection tool for individuals with hereditary cancer syndrome. The tool was designed for primary care settings and aimed to improve access to genetic testing and counseling. The study found that the tool had a high completion rate and demonstrated moderate agreement with genetic counselor-collected information. The researchers concluded that implementing this tool could help identify individuals at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes, particularly those with limited access to healthcare.
