A recent study conducted by researchers from the University Medical Center Utrecht in the Netherlands explored the use of surgical videos in urological residency training. The study found that video-based learning is not yet widely integrated into European urology residency programs, and it is unclear how frequently residents use videos. The majority of residents surveyed reported using videos to prepare for surgical procedures, with YouTube being the most commonly used source. However, access to postsurgical video reviews or video-based coaching was limited for most residents. The study recommends the use of professional, rather than public, videos for surgical education.
