A recent patent application by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation describes a biological information detection device and method for detecting the accumulation of amyloid deposits in the brain. The device uses magnetic particles that are administered into the brain and bound to the target. A varying magnetic field is applied to the particles from outside the brain, and a magnetic signal generated by the particles is detected to determine the amount of the target. This technology could provide a non-invasive and more accessible method for detecting brain diseases such as Alzheimer's dementia. [Extracted from the article] |
