A recent case report from Maharashtra, India highlights the onset of mephentermine use disorder in a middle-aged female. The patient, a 41-year-old woman, presented to the hospital with psychotic complaints. It was discovered that she had been using intravenous mephentermine sulfate for the past four years, leading to mephentermine-induced psychosis. This case emphasizes the need for expanded screening for substance use in different populations, as mephentermine use is typically seen in young males. The research provides valuable insights into the relationship between substance use and psychosis. [Extracted from the article] |
