Abstrakt: A recent systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers from the National University of Singapore aimed to investigate the prevalence of suicide, suicidal ideation, and self-harm among caregivers of cancer patients. The study found that the prevalence of suicidal ideation in caregivers was 11%, suicide prevalence was 6%, and self-harm prevalence was 15%. Subgroup analyses revealed that caregivers above the age of 50 and spouses had a higher prevalence of suicidal ideation. The study highlights the need for more support for caregivers at risk of suicidality and calls for further research to identify other risk and protective factors. [Extracted from the article]
