A recent study conducted by researchers at Autonomous University in Chihuahua, Mexico, examined the environmental impact of tequila production. The study used a cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment to evaluate the farming process of Agave tequilana weber, the plant used to make tequila. The research found that the production of one tonne of A. tequilana weber pineapple generates 11.85 kg CO2 eq, with weed and pest control having the highest impact and nutrition having the lowest impact. This study provides valuable insights into the sustainability of tequila farming and contributes to our understanding of the environmental impact of tequila production. [Extracted from the article] |
