Abstrakt:	The article discusses research published in the issue of the journal "JAMA Network Open" which examined the association of documented mental health diagnosis with sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, precipitating circumstances and mechanism among youth suicide decedents. The study details disparities in diagnosis by race, age and gender. Emphasis is given on the need to increase equal access to mental health screening, diagnosis and treatment for all youths.
